Mostly vintage Ham gear at Friedrichshafen
If this has worked you should be able to see some pictures I took mainly in the flea market at the Friedrichshafen "Ham Radio" show last weekend

Thanks for posting this Fred.
I was thinking the Eddystone prices were a bit fancyful, but perhaps they're a bit rarer in Europe. Regards Pete |

Re: Mostly vintage Ham gear at Friedrichshafen
Oooh Hilberling stuff.
It's beautifully made. I met Hans Hilberling at Dayton in about 2007. We wound up having a rather long chat about high dynamic range receivers. He speaks little English, and I no German, so we were swapping diagrams and bystanders were looking for friends who they thought did technical German. Great fun! In 2008, the transceiver was announced as not going to be made. The reason quoted was difficulty getting it approved. Which is odd because Yaekensu manage with $1500 rigs and this was quoted as $18000. It has no real DSP, it's all trad crystal filters. So the kilowatt amplifier for the thing must have been a prototype. That's going to be very rare indeed. David

Re: Mostly vintage Ham gear at Friedrichshafen
David
You are way out of date! I understand he had just about approved the product when additional new regulations came out. I forget the name but the ones enforcing less lead/lead free solder etc. After a dalliance one year with Siemens showing off the "Hilberling" radio, Hans' company came back with a fully approved product 2 or 3 years ago. The linear has been added in the last few months, and is a soon to be available product. The pictures are from Hilberling's booth, not the flea market! http://www.hilberling.de/en/en_son/index_en.htm I know of one of the transceivers in use in UK. 73 Fred A65BD |

Re: Mostly vintage Ham gear at Friedrichshafen
Ah, good for Hans! There was too much work in that design to waste it.
Thanks for the link to the photos. I found something I'd designed in there... (part of the HP modular spectrum analyser) It's odd seeing bits of your past work showing up in flea markets! Thanks, David
