Teac X1000M belts
Does anyone have info on a supplier for these?Unlike the other X1000s the M has 2 drive belts.Have found suppliers,mostly abroad but they all only mention a single belt.Unfortunately both belts in the machine were broken off so unable to measure them.
Thanks Mick |

Re: Teac X1000M belts
You could try Google.
Teac reel to reel parts from Japan. OpenReel.net Kawashima Audio Service. Kyoto Japan. Look for FB7 5534690000 1500 yen {No idea how much that is }. Download the belt threading guide if needed. I haven't used this company so it may be an idea to check if anyone else has had dealings with them.. I changed both belts successfully on the same model a few years back . I was given both belts and replacement pinch wheels by someone who visited this Forum. I no longer have this deck sadly. Beware of some belt suppliers , In the USA for instance this deck isn't very well known.. They may insist you only need one belt which is incorrect . Hope this info may help. Peter W.....reelguy. PS Do you have the manual for this m/c ? |

Re: Teac X1000M belts
Thanks for reply Peter, yes got the manual.The japanese seller lists them as FB7 and FB9, got a quote including shipping at £45.If its anything like buying from the states I'll probably get clobbered with UK import charges too but it looks like the only way.

You could try here;
http://www.marrscommunications.com/. They are in the U.S.A. and are recommended on Tapeheads.net. I haven't personally bought from them yet, but next time I'm after any belts I will give them a try. |

Re: Teac X1000M belts
I just made a replacement belt for a Grundig 700L from some neoprene cord and superglued the ends together. Could you not do the same?

Re: Teac X1000M belts
Good afternoon,
I have used vintage electronics on a number of occasions, coincidentally, most recently for a belt for a Teac X3. Service and quality spot on. As an aside, they do replacement bulb sets for the big Marantz receivers. Regards, David |

Re: Teac X1000M belts
Ordered a set from vintage-electronics, half the Japanese price.
