Default Funke W19 - Broken "banana jack"

Good evening all,

I have a Funke W19 tube tester that I came by but a jack for the banana plugs has broken. Does anyone know where to find this kind of jack, or a similar replacement? Brilliant ideas on how to fix it are welcome too

Please see attached pictures. Many thanks,

Some model shops sell a range of brass tubing of various diameters. A short length could be glued in place with epoxy, or if you are very patient a piece could be swaged to fit.

You may be able to fix it with epoxy resin glue.

In British English we don't call those things 'jacks'. They would be referred to as banana sockets.

For this sort of repair you could make your own socket from a piece of brass tube of the right size. I get mine from shops that sell model trains, but there must be plenty of source for this sort of thing. You can make a flange on the end of a tube by using a steel punch with a conical tip, or make your own by grinding a point on the end of an old bolt. fix in place with an epoxy adhesive such as Araldite.

I have some cable ferrules that look like that, as well as the ones with insulation on, you can get bare ones, they are only a couple of quid for about 100, you could hold one in with epoxy, they solder a lead to the outside.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I will refer to them as sockets from now on

philthespark: Do you have a picture? When can I get hold of them? Perhaps send a PM if you like.

Thanks
