Default Griffin timer scaler, convert to cap reformer

I was reading a bit on here about turning an old Griffin timer scaler into a cap reformer a night or two ago. I bought a mint dekatron version at the weekend (which I won't be hacking about) but there is also a later one with LED 7 segment displays I can have for not much money. Does anyone know who did it or even better have some info on how to do it?
