Default PYE Popliner 1363

I have just repaired this radio.

Now a question arises: The wave switch has lost his inlay - and in many other radios of this type it is missing.

How does the wave switch look with his original inlay in place?

From the Radiomuseum: https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/pye_popliner_1363.html

Service information can be found the 1966/67 Radio and Television servicing book.

Looking at other photos of this radio, I wondered if there ever was an inlay for the wavechange knob. But looking at this thread, it seems that there should be some star-shaped badge or decal or something. Is there obvious adhesive residue on the wavechange switch of your radio?

I'm not familiar with this set - hopefully, someone on the forum will be…

There is probably an obvious answer, but why is the bandspread band called MB?

According to the ERT service sheet, “Medium wave Bandspread”

The ERT service sheet shows a what looks like a round decal with an embossed Star, I have not posted, the photo is not very clear.

Thanks to all.

poppydog nails it, indeed there is glue residue in my knob, and the residue has the form of the missing star.

So I will leave this well alone and I shall be happy with the negative of the star.

First, one can not find any information...

but later information shows up on all sides...
