Default Yaesu FT102 Counter Diagram Notes

Hi all,

I had a problem with the counter on my FT102 so I tidied the diagram up and added some notes to aid in fault finding, I've attached it here just incase its useful to anyone else, I'll probably add more notes as I go along.

If anyone has any additional notes they think would be useful please feel free to reply and I'll add them in.

My counter was displaying nonsense, four sort of 0 shaped digits that flickered when the knob was rotated. It was two dead Buffer IC's TC5066.

Charles

Thanks for posting this Charles.

The only difficulty I had with my FT102 was a defective antenna change over relay, which I replaced.

Attached is the drawing I created at the time. Maplin were trading then, but don't know of any current suppliers of Omron relays of the type used in this transceiver.

Thanks for that Pete, I'm sure it will come in handy.

I've also recently replaced the relays, I got the T/R relay on the antenna board from RS. I also found a drop in replacement for most of the relays on the RF unit but I did have to do a modification for RL2 on the RF unit.

I also had a failed relay on the IF unit that stopped the S meter from working.

Rs stock numbers for relays
4 relays on RF unit (you may need to do the 24v relay mod) & 1 on IF unit: 2561103
Rl2 on RF unit, mod required to fit: 369573
Relay on antenna connector board: 369472

Nearly all of the electrolytics on the rectifier board had also leaked or exploded so they have been replaced as well.

My band change switch was also out of alignment so when 1.8 was selected on the front panel, 7 was selected on the RF unit. I havent even begun work on the TX sections yet.
