Default Itt ct2600 tv

Is any one familiar with these old sets, it works fine for a while then totally breaks up, I try to retune the TV but to no avail, then it seems to restore itself ,
is there a stock fault with these sets, any help would be appreciated.

This model appears to use the CVC1210/15 chassis.

Hi, the tuner/ if can was notorious for dry joints and also the caps. Check the earthing joints around the edge of the can.

Why not find a replacement transformer?

At least offer the TV on here before dumping it. Someone may want it for spares.
