I have had some set top boxes pick up fewer channels because of this problem. Poor regulation of the supply voltages can affect the tuner's performance.

I have three Humax F2 FOX-T, also a Goodmans GDR11.
I much prefer the Humax, I do have a couple of Humax PVR's, but have not got round to see if they have a built in modulator. I mostly use a stand alone modulator fed from a hard drive based media player to display programmes on to my vintage 625 line sets. The same setup is used via an Aurora standards converter for 405 line sets. Mark |

If you do pick up a Humax make sure it has the remote - they are expensive and getting difficult to obtain.

Aswo sells COM remotes that will work on Humax sets. Depending on availability you might need the universal STB control and a programming cable.
