I have had some set top boxes pick up fewer channels because of this problem. Poor regulation of the supply voltages can affect the tuner's performance.

You will find the Humax F2 FOX-T has a built in modulator.

I have three Humax F2 FOX-T, also a Goodmans GDR11.
I much prefer the Humax, I do have a couple of Humax PVR's, but have not got round to see if they have a built in modulator.

I mostly use a stand alone modulator fed from a hard drive based media player to display programmes on to my vintage 625 line sets.
The same setup is used via an Aurora standards converter for 405 line sets.

If you do pick up a Humax make sure it has the remote - they are expensive and getting difficult to obtain.

Aswo sells COM remotes that will work on Humax sets. Depending on availability you might need the universal STB control and a programming cable.
