Early GEC Transistor Radios
Hello All
I find the GEC radio model numbering scheme very confusing and it's hard to work out the order in which they were released. It looks like maybe the BC1650 was their first transistor model, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know the order in which the 1950s GEC transistor models were launched? best regards ... Stef |

Re: Early GEC Transistor Radios
Most if not all the early GEC models are listed in Jonathan Hill's Radio! Radio! third edition. You may well be right about the BC1640 being the first TR in 1957 then June 1959 BC501.

Re: Early GEC Transistor Radios
It seems that you add the first and second digits (1 and 6) to the last two digits (50)
1+6 +50 =57, 1957 so the estimate was correct. |
