Question Marconi 556 scale pointer

I’ve recently been given a Marconi 556 Radio with a completely seized tuning capacitor.

I’ve decided it’s best if this came off anyhow as the chassis has also rusted up also needs stripping & refinishing etc but i cannot find a way as yet to remove the dial pointer at all.

Unlike HMV sets of the period there is no sign of an outer screw and yet this pointer is stuck fast.

Has anyone any experience of removing these before? Is it just a push fit?

I don’t want to go in with pliers just yet in case there is a simpler way of getting this off the shaft
