I think you can get some idea of the coverage area of the Holme Moss BBC ch2 transmitter by comparing it to the VHF/FM radio coverage area of the high powered national stations from Holme Moss, BBC R's 1-4 and Classic FM, which is very similar to that of the BBC 405 line TV service.

In Bangor in the early 70s we used to get our stereo FM from Holme Moss. The main problem was the adjacent mono FM signal from Llanddona which required careful tuning to avoid the AFC pulling the tuner away from the weaker Holme Moss signal. We were in one of the university halls of residence which was fairly high up.
