Default Pre-War (Universal and not) Avominor usage

Idle thought here - I was wondering how these 6 ma fsd and 2.5 ma fsd meters fared in the era of Ally Pally Televisors and high resistance Wireless valve circuits generally. Were they the instrument of choice then as the later Avo 7s and especially 8s became?

I don't know enough to comment on that, but:

There was a 50uA version of the DC Avominor, and also a 250uA version of the Universal Avominor. The former was only made for a couple of years (1938-1940) but the latter had a run of over 3,000 units over 7 years- ie 1950-1957 (A lot of which were issued to the military)
