Could be collectors who are now dealers[or maybe the other way round]. What a lot of kit either way! Can't figure out where they are actually located from this site [bits of it don't work here] but the Radio Net seems to put everyone in range of Duluth and Hibbing [Dylan territory] so a visit would suit me. Impressive, to say the least! I like the deliberate Freudian slip - dumb weighter.
I did not know there were other models that looked a bit like HRO's with plug-in coils and that ingenious tuning dial.

They are HROs. They look like HRO-50s or 60s which were postwar developments using a mixture of octal and B7G valves. They continued the plug-in coil unit tradition with the magnificent logging dial but there was also a directly calibrated scale.

From the site
"Below is only a small part of our Inventory. Click on each photo to enlarge. All merchandise sold with a 30 day guarantee. All merchandise tested before shipment" definitely dealers and I'd guess they must buy up entire collections. In my experience, American collectors often have large collections, whatever they collect. I knew someone through work who had over 50 rifles. There are a lot of National sets which are sought after in the US and rarely seen in Europe. Pete. |

I shudder to think just how much that lot is worth!

Re: Vintage Amateur Radio Collection OTT
Well, the Collins section looks to have maybe a couple of hundred items, none of which looks like tat. E.g. the R390As look to have their proper meters which were often ripped out. Maybe $750 a pop on average.
Then there's the Drake and National stuff which isn't cheap, and the modern stuff. It looks worth the better part of a not inconsiderable sum. Pete. |

My! That is a serious collection! I wonder what the annual insurance bill is for that lot! Obviously a dealer.
LHS, 4th. pic. down I spy a pair of Central Electronics 200V HF TXs. I have one of those waiting a total overhaul - but it's going to be a mammoth task. One day, one day . . . Al / Skywave. |

Re: Vintage Amateur Radio Collection OTT
Thanks, Edward, I did not know that. I've only ever seen the earlier ones like one I used to have years ago.
