Rock-Ola 451 Selection Control Box diode identification

Anyone familiar with the Rock-ola selection control box circuits please?

This diode was soldered to tags of a circuit connection strip (photos attached). It measures around 600K in forward direction so suspect may be a zener?

Can't tell from markings if it's an IN301 or something else. I paid for service manual but that only has parts list for the audio amp, so I'm too cheap to pay more for comprehensive parts list in case any expert here can help identify.

The jukebox is working fine without it now I've degreased gripper mechanism. I'd like to replace this diode but dropped it into bowels of machine.

Please can anyone help identify the diode to get hold of? Thanks a lot.

Difficult to see clearly, but is there a figure 1 after the 1N. If so it could be 1N1301

Package is wrong for either 1N301 or 1N1301.

What were you trying to measure Vf with? Some larger diodes can go over a volt.

Package looks similar to 1N5400 series. Pity it's buried in the innards- some better pictures might be a bit more informative.

Any idea of its function? Could it be a relay back emf suppressor or similar?

I have had a look at the selection control schematics for this juke box, and while the diode part numbers are not given, they all appear to be standard silicon types. I guess a 1N4004 or 1N5404, or something similar would be fine.

From it’s position on the tag strip, it is very likely it was for back emf protection. All the jukebox functions and selection operation are perfect other than the usual dried grease.

I’ll pop in an IN4002 or IN4004.
