Yaesu FT890 calibration
Hi folks
Maybe a silly question. The ALC meter cal was out on my rig. No matter how high I adjust the mic gain, the meter hardly deflected. As a result, I set mic gain by peaking the rf output power on voice peaks. The manual, pics attached, states a cal procedure ( ALC meter sensitivity) which involves using an af sig gen. I have done this procedure and the ALC meter deflection now tracks the mic gain settings better. My question is regarding the procedure in the manual. The manual does not state if the sig gen output should be peak to peak or RMS. I done the cal with peak to peak as that's what my Farnell gen is calibrated in. Anyone know if I have done this cal correctly?
