Default Question about 1950s Philips tabletop TV

Hi,
reading a recent thread about Philips monochrome TVs got me thinking about the TV we had at home when I was a child.

It received BBC on Channel 1, we later had a Band III aerial fitted for ITV on Channel 9.

Dad must have bought it about 1957-ish. I can remember the knobs on the left-hand side for the turret tuner.

Does anyone have any idea what model this could have been? There surely weren't that many different Philips models at that time?

The set was very reliable - but I remember fly-back lines appearing when the mains voltage dropped in winter and also (continental?) co-channel interference on Band I during lift conditions despite E2-4 being on different frequencies to B1.

I would be grateful for any information regarding Philips sets of this period.

Sounds like a 1708U or a 1768U, very similar styling with the tuner loudspeaker and controls on the left side of the cabinet. These models were very popular and pop up regularly on eBay.

I seem to recall the mask around the CRT was a shade of green

Was it a TRF set for BBC1?

If so, and it being bought in 1957, it was obviously bought second-hand. I would suspect it might be a Philips 385U, the tabletop version of my main 405 set, the 485U (which reminds me, I must get "roun' tu it" sometime).

Funny how we remember the channel numbers, it was 3 for BBC and 11 for ITV when I was a young 'un.

Anything like this one? Really good sets, very stable and quite a good picture.
