Default Finnish web site

Lovely web site, English version too. Plus a links page leading to more interesting stuff. One bee I have in my bonnet is how hard it is on the web to find foreign sites if they are not in English. It is not as easy a tuning a radio! I blundered upon this after searching for info on a pair of headphones.

No! that's no good, its not a proper radio collection, not a KB in sight anywhere. only joking.
There are some really nice radios to be seen there.

Hi

That's an interesting website with some very nice pics. Ref the second link that Stuart gave regarding the Fenno radio, I believe this is a Finnish Philips brand. The format of the Type No label looks familiar.

Symon

An easier way I find is to determine the key words for a topic then search in the foreign language directly. Obviously a little knowledge of the language is needed, but it is possible to use the Windows alternate keyboard facility with the on screen keyboard utility for those languages without normal English lettering (eg Cyrillic alphabet). Having an online translation page open is also useful, especially one that is more technically competant rather than Google. That way the predictions are more geared to the specific country, especially if you start with a country specific search page. The only real negative I have noticed (apart from the language) is that your location is unchanged so some country specific information may not be accessible.
