GE Harrelson Mazda stereo
I have an opportunity to purchase an old stereo but I have been very unsuccessful getting any additional information on this unit prior to purchase.
Can someone please help me this unit. The cabinet is marked with the name HARRELSON MAZDA. The inside is marked as a GENERAL ELECTRIC SOLID STATE STEREO. Thank you in advance for your help. I hope to purchase this unit for my 21 year old son for Christmas. |

Re: GE Harrelson Mazda stereo
Hi Cheri,
That cabinet label appears to be a local car dealership, so probably not relevant to the stereogram. Is there a model number, or any other identification on the back? |

Re: GE Harrelson Mazda stereo
This is highly likely to be a General Electric model from about 1966 - making it an early transistor unit. It's a super retro gift, but at this age it's highly likely to need attention. Have you heard it working? Is there a specialist in vintage electronics in, or nearby to Columbia, that can assist you?

Re: GE Harrelson Mazda stereo
You may get more help if you post on a US vintage radio forum. This is primarily a British forum, and US gear like your console wasn't sold here, so experience with it is very limited.
