Kenwood R 1000 Rec socket not working
It was working a few months ago, but I tried it today and its not outputting any signal, I can still use headphone jack. The Rec out did seem rather quiet though, might have been on the way out. Any ideas before I ring my radio guy?

Do you have the service manual?
There's no switching in the record jack (the contact is redundant). The jack is wired back to the pre-amp board which it connects to via a 2 pin connector.

Re: Kenwood R 1000 Rec socket not working
+1 on Graham's post - those two-pin plug/sockets on the PC boards are notoriously unreliable - a little bit of surface corrosion and they're dead in the water. Just carefully unplug and refit a few times and all should come right. If you have sounds from the speaker then the rest of the circuit must be good although the circuit diagram is not necessarily how it's actually wired.
