If you have replaced the smoothing electrolytics, then the hum is likely to be a heater/cathode leak in the UL41 or perhaps the UBC41.

Oh dear, that would be disappointing. I googled that Paul and found something you wrote 15 years ago on the every subject.
I think I will film it working now, I don't mind the hum too much but I suppose whichever valve it is will get worse and give up some time or other, so restricted usage for now until some surplus valves come along to try. |

Try shorting the grid of the UBC41 to chassis and see what effect that has on the hum level.
