If you have replaced the smoothing electrolytics, then the hum is likely to be a heater/cathode leak in the UL41 or perhaps the UBC41.

Oh dear, that would be disappointing. I googled that Paul and found something you wrote 15 years ago on the every subject.

I think I will film it working now, I don't mind the hum too much but I suppose whichever valve it is will get worse and give up some time or other, so restricted usage for now until some surplus valves come along to try.

Try shorting the grid of the UBC41 to chassis and see what effect that has on the hum level.
