Default Quad FM Acoustical tuner signal cable/LT cable QC2 jones plug cable

Does anyone know which is best signal cable for Quad FM Acoustical Tuner? Also cable for LT 4 pin plug.

I have used some coaxial cable but not great output and have recently used some van dammn analogue cable but not great either if you move cable around get lots of static then increase decrease in volume which is also distorted so assume not screened very well. Been looking at Belden cable but not sure which is the best for both cables seems to be good quality hence reason looking at it.

Oh cable needs to be a max of 6.5mm outer diameter to fit.

Also best cable for Quad QC2 Jones plug again max OD 6.5mm.

Cheers Chris

I'm surprised you've had noise problems with Van Damme analogue cable. It's used very widely in the pro music industry and I use it for making up almost all my audio interconnects.

I normally work with this stuff http://www.van-damme.com/vandamme_pr...trument-cable/ which is nominally 6mm o.d. although they do do a narrower version if you need that. Its main purpose is for stage musicians to connect their instruments - particualarly electric guitars - and it's designed to generate very low levels of electrical noise even though they might be dancing around pretty wildly.

It's quite rare for owners of Quad equipment to dance with it. But if you plan to then the cable will probably not be the biggest of your problems. Are you sure that the noise wasn't coming from a poor contact at the cable ends or between the plug and socket themselves ?

Cheers,

GJ
