Default Teac X1000M problem

Hi. The tape deck hasn't been used in a long time, but when i press play it starts to play tapes then the tape between the the heads just starts to drop down. I hope someone can help.

Failure points on these decks include the capstan belt and the pinch roller carriage, which can jam up completely as its grease stiffens with disuse. Check that both capstans are rotating and check the pinch roller mechanism for free movement.
