Default Request, Sony TC-255 Pinch Roller

Hello, would anyone have a Sony TC-255 pinch roller they would like to sell.

I've a battered old machine, which is working, with the exception of the pinch roller which is worn down and slips.

Or if anyone knows of an alternative that would be great.

I've seen the ones on eBay.de, however don't really want to spend 60 getting it going.

If might be worth selling as is??

Thank you, Chris

If your problem is that the pinch roller has become shiny on the working-surface, I think it is possible to make it appropriately soft by abrading it with some emery-paper. I think that there might even be preparations that will re-soften the rubber surface. I'm sure that someone with more knowledge of reel-to-reel tape machines will offer some more (better?) advice in due course.

Have a look at MG Chemicals rubber renue.

I've used it very extensively and successfully on my various vcr pinch rollers.

Thanks chaps, trouble is the roller is a little worn down on one side so it slips as it rolls

Have you got a picture and the rough diameter? I've got a roller knocking about that I have a vague idea came off a Sony R2R but am not certain.
