Default Kreisler 11-81A. Identification of components and uses.

Hi all. I have a Kreisler 11-81A 50's AM radio. I have two components that i do not know about, I have attached a photo.
I think they are capacitors but i cannot find any information online about these. Can anyone help me please and tell me what they are and what they are used for. They are connected to the IF oscillator from the detector tube 6AN7 on connection point-9. Another problem is they are not marked on the original schematic. Please help. Thanks.

They are capacitors and don't need changing. The top one is variable by turning the screw through the centre?

C4? described as a wire trimmer.

The capacitor identified to the left is the oscillators grid coupling capacitor, it's value in conjunction with the 47k resistor determines the -ve grid voltage on the oscillators grid, that voltage also determines the bias voltage for the mixer and IF amplifier via the 10meg resistor.

The other capacitor looks to be a "wire" capacitor and might be the oscillators trimmer capacitor (C4)

EDIT: Post crossed.

Lawrence.
