Identification of possible radio equipment storage case.
Hi! My first post so please forgive any transgressions! I recently bought an old (1960s?) wooden storage case, with many storage sections. I am intrigued to know what it was originally for. I assumed it was a salesman's case but noticed that one section is marked 'Decoder'. I wondered if anyone here has any ideas, please? I have photos but am not sure how to post them.
Thank you. |

Quite likely for a set of TV panels, carried round in a Service Engineer's vehicle. A photo would help to identify it. Are there any other markings?

Yes, "decoder" could refer to the colour decoder in an earlyish colour telly.

Re: Identification of possible radio equipment storage case.
I certainly lugged a big wooden case around with me when I began as a field engineer with Granada Rentals. Later it was several large ABS attache cases which I still have.
Later still another employer used these green cases for shipping. I pinched a few to carry spares in the boot of my car, and used three of them until I retired last year.
