Default Marantz CP430 cassette deck eject mechanism

Hi All

I have got a damaged CP430 which I have been straigtening out the hinge/top for a while and its nearly there. However I am having a senior moment when it comes to putting the cassette lid and hinge assembly back together. For some reason I cannot work out how the spring and lid/metal clip thing go back in.

Anyone help me out ?

I removed and replaced such cassette doors on those little Marantzs but it was long ago.

In the absence of any input from others, I suggest just take time looking at each piece, particularly the spring(s) and the pin, and work out how each connects with the rest of the deck, and how to insert them without doing damage. Do one thing at a time.

You may have to screw the door on wide open and then with a spring hook, pre tension the lift assist spring(s) to locate them. The pin pointing leftwards is probably to limit the door's opening angle and so needs to butt up against some surface in the deck. You may also have to pre tension it before popping it into its place. Again, take your time. Dont rush it.

Thanks Timtape. I finally worked it out that the spring needed to be pressed underneath and then it sprung back properly.
