Here is a guy named Gordon who used to run a Radio & TV repair shop some years ago and has a number of items left after it was closed. His stock includes Record player cartridges, Loudspeakers, TV mains droppers and audio & computer cables. Not all of his stock is listed on the website so have a look and send him an email if you think he may have what you need.
See http://writestationery.com/index.htm Regards, Alf |

I can supply braided cords for vintage telephones. Top quality UK manufactured tinsel core with a pure Egyptian cotton braid and supplied with the correct loop and cotton ties – no cable ties to spoil the job!
They are hand plaited and made to order, so virtually any length/finish is possible. Please PM me if you are interested.

I've just found a supplier of Braided Cable in Germany the business is called http://www.textilkabel.de he can supply any colour of cable under the rainbow (and some that aren't) in either two or three core,it is the usual type of PVC cable with a Braided cover but very good quality, my order arrived in two days so is comparable with UK post. Usual disclaimer I don't know the chap from Adam but his service is good.

Yes...and they do the "orange drop" capacitors too for a price that seems to be less than some others I could mention.
Cheers. |

This site is based in Germany and I've had good success with them. Jan speaks perfect English (the website is in English too). Great selection of valves and electrolytic capacitors.

If you tell them your a hobbyist! you get better prices! good luck

Geoff Davies (Radio) has a good range of valves, components and hardware useful to vintage radio restorers. He also gets in some complete or near-complete items he sells on as "projects" as well as interesting period textbooks. No web site, but you can subscribe to his monthy lists. Tel 01788 574774 or email geoffdavies (at) fsmail.net

I got hold of a nice variable capacitor from these people. Similar to the original on my Davenset 1930 portable. They turned out to be in the town I live in and specialise in variable capacitors and drives! They are mostly geared up for mail order, so please contact them rather than dropping in. Not bad prices and a good range.

For new (replica) spares for GPO 200, 300 and 700-series telephones, such as cases, cords, dial centres, finger plates etc., I can wholeheartedly recommend:
http://www.gpospares.co.uk/ The chap who runs it, a Mr Ray Sutcliffe, is an absolute gentleman, and the parts I ordered were of excellent quality and arrived almost instantly. Well worthwhile if you have a nice 706 or 746 which is let down by damaged or faded cosmetic parts, or even if you just need a colour-matched line cord with a "modern" 431A plug pre-attached. When I ordered, I had to send an e-mail or phone, there's no online ordering facility per se. Nick. Last edited by Nickthedentist; 16th Feb 2012 at 4:52 pm. |

Semiconductor Supplies International are a very good supplier of obsolete Integrated Circuits, transistors, capacitors, diodes and loads more. Tel 020 8643 1126.
I purchased some germanium transistors from them a few years ago for some of my 1960's portable radios. They provide a very good service. Paul |
