Default Spot the Resistors

Hello,

Sorting through some resistors I’ve picked up at various swapmeets and jumbles over the years… I use these for 'period' looking repairs and builds

These and the Piher, Electrosil, Erie 100 series high stabs, Iskra and Welwyn Panclimatic Film types are the only resistors I usually bother picking up.

I’m curious about the manufacturer of the two types of film resistors in the pictures.

#1. Has light grey body and resembles the Iskra parts, however, I’m not sure they are Iskra, which normally have a light brown body. These were quite popular in the 1970’s – a distant memory makes me think they could have originated from India?

#2. They are of a moulded construction with an ‘Ohm’ with W in the middle. I did wonder if these were Ohmite meatal/oxide film parts.

Any clues as to the manufacturers?

Note to self… must get out more

Regards
Terry

I recall seeing the 'Ohm' with W symbol on Welwyn resistors.

EDIT In fact, might they be Welwyn 'Metox' ones, as here https://www.keith-snook.info/quad-fm...0resistors.PDF ? Ha !, Terry, If you think you need to get out more ... .

Cheers,

GJ

Thanks for the reply.

That makes sense. So, that's one accounted for. I suppose these would have been the precursor of the current Metal Oxide WM range.

GJ, hope the medical problems you speak of in the 6L6/Quad thread conclude ok with no further problems. You’ll be missed at the Jumble.

Regards
Terry.
