Re: Ekco oddities
Ekco were very involved with building aircraft Weather Radars. Parts, Indicators in particular, turn up on ebay regularly.

Re: Ekco oddities
Not very good pictures, but here is an Airborne Interception radar indicator I have in my collection. Built by Ekco, I guess in the 60's.

Re: Ekco oddities
When I worked a PYE in the late 70's the staff shop had EKCO bog seats. Presumably at a discount.

Re: Ekco oddities
There's an Ekco Hostess trolley (presumably mid/late '70s) up for auction near us!

Re: Ekco oddities
Here's a couple of Ekco oddities, the waveform generator has recently passed calibration too.
All from the late 60's, still working to spec. One of the oddities can clearly be seen as Dynatron Electronics as opposed to Ekco Instruments, both however, from Maidenhead. These have been pretty-much in constant use since new, performing their duty, still at Harwell. Hope you like(?) Mark

Re: Ekco oddities
I didn't realize Ekco was still going!
Mind you it's probably just the name rather than an evolution of products from the original company.

Was this a commercial link between Ekco and Linpac or did LP just buy the site? I did a brief stint of agency work at Linpac in Winsford years ago & there was a mezzanine floor with several Sinclair C5's/their shells still brand new. Horrible, hot place to work but I'd be able to look back upon it with a little more fondness if they were associated with Ekco, whose products (at least in the '50s-60s era) appeal to me very much. |

Re: Ekco oddities
Yes, EKCO hifi amplifiers no less. I first became aware of them about five years ago.
