Default National Panasonic NV-7500

I need some help with this VCR. It is a multi system (PAL, SECAM, NTSC) model from 1981. The first probem I have is that when playing back a PAL tape, the picture is black and white. When I play a SECAM tape the picture has good colour picture. Secondly, this machine looks like it has servo problems with the drum and capstan servo during record mode. When I record a tape on it, the head drum spins too fast and the capstan speed is very unstable. Can someone give me an advice? Maybe I have to recap the power supply and servo/chroma/luminance boards? I have the service manuals for the models NV-7200 and 7800 which are PAL-only machines.

Also depends on the TV it's played into. If that is set to SECAM then a pal output from the VCR will show as B & W. Some VCR's & TV's only work in one system via the VCR aerial output but other systems via a scart or RGB input

My TV set supports all systems. I have tried it on 2 sets. A 2008 Samsung CRT and a 2010 Toshiba Regza LCD...

Actually this example was made in january 1983. The model may have been from 1981, though.

How do you know it? Can you read the serial number?
