Default R1481 receiver jones plug pinout?

Hi people, can you tell me the pin out for the jones plug on the R1481 receiver? just they are not as clearly marked out as as to what the connections are on the schematics as for the R1155, I just want to be 110% certain, here is the schematic...

Thanks in advance

To be absolutely certain, is it feasible to inspect the wiring behind the connector and confirm where in the chassis each wire goes?

Its totally un-got at Andy, so the circuit diagram should be spot on & i am not that technically experienced really to know hence why i am here asking what the schematic says, but i may dig it out of the storage shed when the weather improves to inspect it further to see if i can figure it out.

Can anybody else help confirm what the schematic says above??

BTW Andy.. Hope your making good use of the Vulcan Bomber T4 bombsighting head unit that you bought off me on Ebay

I think :

The pins are numbered from 7 to 12 (whether that means it's showing part of a 12 pin
plug I don't know).

7 : Earth side of the valve heaters
8 : Valve heaters
9 : Earth (HT-)
10 : HT+
11,12 : Audio output

From looking at the AP, the only thing I found unclear is whether the connector was viewed from the front or the rear. This version of the circuit makes it clear as it says 'Plug viewed from front'.
Are the pin numbers embossed on the plug moulding?
(The R1132A and the R1481 are versions of the same receiver).

Andy,

That circuit diagram looks of far better quality than a scan/photograph from an AP. If it is a copy from the original fold out then somebody has gone to a lot of trouble cleaning it.

The statement at the bottom "IF transformers modified for 180KC/s" is unusual as this would normally be covered in the text and the circuit diagram would reflect this with the A.M. stores ref. that for some reason is missing.

Any views?

Chris

Chris,
I don't know the origin of the diagram other than it came from the VMARS online Archive. It is clearly an official AM diagram, but it isn't marked with an AP number or an AD (Air Diagram) Number.
As you say, it is nice and clean.

Richard Hankins and his early vmars team spent many hours cleaning up the vmars library documents for the benefit of all of us users. Thanks Richard.

Yes Andy the numbers are embossed on the female 10H/427 plug in socket at the soldering pin end of the plug (on the rear of the socket)

I also have x2 un-got at R1132's one of which i have lent out to the local museum to display

Thank you very much for that Tony ,much appreciated for your positive reply (excuse the pun)

I knew which the speaker connections were ,but just wanted to be certain on the rest of the pin-out .

When the weather clears up i will dig the R1481 out of the shed & let you know how it goes.

Best regards,Shaun.

Warning, I think I need to go into pedant mode here!

"female plug in socket" - what on earth...…………

For 'normal' connectors, whether it is a 'plug' or a 'socket' is defined solely and simply by the gender of the contacts. The part with the male contacts is the plug, and the part with the female contacts is the socket. Whether it is fixed to the chassis or on the end of a length of cable is irrelevant.
The Jones connector which is part of this receiver has male contacts - it is therefore a plug. As it is fixed to the chassis it is a 'Fixed Plug'.
The part which is on the end of the wire from the Power Supply has female contacts and is therefore a 'Free Socket'.

My qualification for stating this quite categorically is a career in Aircraft Systems Engineering where plugs and sockets have to specified unambiguously, mistakes can get very expensive!

(My caveat of 'normal' above is to exclude 'hermaphrodite connectors' and connectors which have a mixture of male and female contacts, for example).
