Default Early D-S Pye at Fakenham auction

Coming up on Thursday 14th in Beck's weekly auction here and probably deserving a good home,

Seems a long time since I saw one of these at large. Viewing is Wednesday afternoon and the morning of the sale.

Pye model 2. Same chassis as the 19" 700D. 1961 in 700D format. Low gain UHF due to IF lead from UHF valve tuner output going straight to main IF panel rather than through VHF tuner. [Pye incremental VHF tuner] Mullard short neck 17" AW43-89 tube and it will be a good one. Looks very clean. John.

Hello John,

Yes, a TV2 it is as confirmed on the back. Does look clean and promising throughout, and the thing lurking under a picture just behind it is a rather less tidy Ekco woodie with FM, probably part of the same lot.

Sold for £30. A friend was narrowly beaten to it! Hopefully it's gone to a good home!
