Default Vox AC15 clean channel inspired guitar amplifier

Some pictures and the schematic of a guitar amplifier i have built. It is based on the clean channel of the Vox AC15, but has 2 x ECL86 instead of ECC83 + 2 x EL84. I prolonged the tail of the phase-splitter because i had the 42 Volt tap on the power transformer anyway. I replaced the bright-switch of the AC15 with a one-knob tone-control.

It sounds good (no hum, low hiss) but has a lot of gain. In hindsight i could (should?) have used a tone control with more insertion loss.

Greetings,
Robert

Very impressed.
What speakers are you planning to use with this?

Best Regards

Rob

Hello Rob,

Thank you for your compliment.

I use the amplifier with one Jensen C12Q-8 speaker in a Palmer cabinet (they come without speakers). The cabinet now houses two Jensen C12Q-8 speakers but the connectors on the back permit hooking them up seperately.

For some more info (in Dutch...) and pictures, see: http://otl800.blogspot.com/2017/01/g...2-x-ecl86.html

Greetings,
Robert
