Wireless Set 27
I wonder if anyone can help with any service data on a Wireless Set number 27.
I attach a couple of pics of 2 sets a friend recently acquired. Peter |

Re: Wireless Set 27
Three channel crystal control set operating on 22.5,23.5 and 24.5 mhz TX and covering 22-25 mhz rx (AM). The output was roughly 1/4 watt. Not many were produced, in naval use it became a "W/T type 67 set".
Not much good for amateur use but you might find some sw broadcasters to listen to in that range. I'd be interested if either of these is likely to be available. All the best and kind regards, Robs

A brief description of this set and a circuit diagram appear in Wireless for the Warrior volume 1.

Re: Wireless Set 27
Though sounds like it could work on 15m or 12m band (21MHz to 21.450 and 24.89 to 24.99MHZ).
The FT817 does about 1.25W on those bands. Also a 6ft or 8ft military whip easily base loaded/tuned for those bands. 250mW fine for local "walkie talkie" use on a large field day site? and if the bands are open you'd be surprised how far that goes. |
