Default User Manual Cathay CC600

Has any member come across the manufactures name Cathay,
I have got hold of a stereo radio cassette player and just need a copy of the manual. This one has the casstte buttons on the top and the front has the tuning scale below that the dual tape decks and vol bal and function to the right with speakers below. I tried a google search but nothing

Any help appreciated

If it's the one I'm thinking of, that was a name usually found on 1980s imported crap from the far east! Think Akura, Alba, Binatone, Amstrad...you get the idea.

Post a photo of the unit, might jog our memories.

I remember in the 1980s Argos seemed to be the only place you buy Cathay items, but I'm sure many items were badge-engineered & it might be possible to find an identical item with another branding.

I remember that "Cathay" was another name for China.
There was a lot of products that were private labeled in the US, as well!
How about "Panashiba" and "Tonysonic".

I thought Cathay was a brand sold by Boots Chemists, I could be wrong though.

Perhaps a picture of the device will jog some memories and possible equivalents.

I do vaguely remember the 'Cathay' brand, but don't know much about it. I always assumed it was one of the random brands slapped onto Hong Kong stuff.

As Dave said, Cathay is a historical name for China. It lives on in the HK based airline Cathay Pacific.
