Telam branded valves
Hello All
I have a Made in Poland Unitra Figaro Special radio with an ECH81, EBF89 and ECL82 line-up. All the valves are branded 'LELAM'. Does anyone know anything about this brand? Would the valves have been manufactured in Poland, or imported (from Germany?) and given this brand? best regards ... Stef |

Re: Lelam branded valves
Poland certainly had valve factories and valve brands. One often seen over here is Polam. My guess would be that Poland looked both East and West, and so made both European and Russian valve designs.

Re: Lelam branded valves
Doing a web search for 'lampy elektronowe lelam' doesn't produce any results, but there are Polish valve sites mentioning Telam as being the same manufacturer as Polam. Perhaps your valves are actually branded Telam? It's certainly a Polish brand, and given the way things worked back then, almost certainly made in Poland.

Re: Lelam branded valves
Answering my own post, there's more information at https://pl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamp...owane_w_Polsce. It seems that basically Telam valves were produced in the factories which had belonged to Philips and Tungsram before the war, and in the mid-60s got amalgamated into the enormous Unitra organisation, from which point the valves were branded Polam.

Re: Lelam branded valves
Thanks for the comments, they are most useful. I took another look at my valves and indeed they are marked Telam, and not Lelam. Photo attached.
