Default Two mono = One stereo amplifier

I had two mono amps EL84 in push pull , I had this idea of building a low cost stereo amp , I encapsulated all the transformers in aluminium boxes, a Baxandall tone control circuit was fitted what a difference that made. I am very pleased with the looks and sound of the finished amplifier, the total cost was about £120, excluding labour of course. What to build next I keep thinking KT66's . Mick.

Hi Stephen that is for a good reason , after potting the mains tx's the last thing I wanted is a short on the HT / LT damaging the transformer . Mick.

I like it*, if it were mine I would need at least some of the knobs labeled!

*Despite my comments upon exposed valve audiofile things where style goes over safety, this is a superb example of a proper home brew job. All of mine have exposed valves because it it easier to do, and they look nice.

Neat! I'm kinda inspired to do something similar over the winter.

Thumbs up Re: Two mono = One stereo amplifier

Excellent job! Far better than my old cutlery box amp!
Well constructed, neatly wired & (as others have already said) a goodly amount of fuses!
Definite thumbs up, well done.

Looks great - just think what a 12W+12W valve stereo amp will cost new, £700-00+.
