Removing Garrard springs?
This is an old (unimech?) TT I am using for spares. Is there any way of liberating these springs

Re: Removing Garrard springs?
Well, they're spot welded on so it's either hammer and chisel from the side nearest the deck plate or extreme heat. Either way it's not going to be pretty.
I can't say in all my years playing with Garrard's that I've ever seen one come off so they obviously made them to be a forever fit. Unless of course, someone knows different ? Sorry I can't be of more help. David. |

Re: Removing Garrard springs?
If you are prepared to sacrifice say 1/8 inch of the narrow end ( next to chassis ) of the spring, then it could be cut through using a Dremel or similar abrasive cutting disc.
WEAR GOGGLES though!
