Default Screw sizes for Bush VHF61

Hello,

i'm not very familiar with screw sizes and was wondering if someone could advise me please. I'm looking for the correct size screw to hold the front speaker grill in place on a VHF61 radio.

I think it may be know as a 2ba ? - there are just so many with bfs, bsw, m series etc.

I would guess at about 3/4 in length?

thanks

Well, you can rule out 3/4 BSW

I have one, and if no-one else pipes up I'll take it apart - I hope they do!. If it does turn out to be 2BA and we can find what head style and length you need, I'll see if I can find you some.

Lets hope so... I've been a couple of weeks getting this radio to work. It was it a right state when i got it, including the whole of the front speaker grill split in half with no screws. I even had to fit a micro switch in place of the power switch that was faulty.

It's a lot better now, I was just re-assmbling it when suddenly i remembered no screws!

The screws that hold the chassis from under the radio fit the threaded holes in the case, but i still don't know what size they are. in order to get some more.

derek

Hi all,
It is bound to be a BA thread as this was before metrication. Pretty sure it will be 2BA. I have some stocks of there just need head type and length.
Most BA stuff is still available from suppliers on various sites

Most British built sets would have used BA threads. 4BA and 6BA were perhaps the most common.

The chassis screws and hence the grill screws are 2BA.

Got one on the bench earlier today and can confirm the chassis is held in place with 2BA screws.

Thanks,
Peter

Thanks everyone

I think I have found a local supplier so i'm off out to get some later today.

For info; the chassis and the grill screws seem to be 2BA, 5/8in with a cheese top.
