Looks more like a cake than a radio(!) My guess is a '50's battery portable (luggable) intended for mains less houses, big batteries that last.

I used to have one of these - possibly even this one, though the warped surround and knobs are usual for the model - and I think it's come up here before and someone among us was able to put a name to it, perhaps through owning an example with a brand name on the dial. Not much help, I know, but then the name wasn't a common one and service info would almost certainly be unobtainable. It was definitely a mains set.

I think these were made by GL Good Listening and were being researched by Alan Stepney before he passed on.

I gave an example to Alan mains Octal based beast.

Inside there nicely built but as Paul says it's normal for the escucheon and knobs to end up in this mess.

Alan was interested because they were built I think Ringwood certainly the Poole area.

I've seen one or two in the past that were marked Windsor but bearing in mind the above link maybe that was a model, not the manufacturer

Hello,
Yes it is a Good Listening radio.
I bought the two in the BVWS auction picture below.
If you look carefully you can see they have different dials and markings on the wavechange knobs.
The chassis is the same as used in one of the Good Listening metal cased radios.

Hello,
The first picture is the Good Listening label on the back of one of my sets.
The second picture is the metal cased Good Listening radio which has basically the same chassis.
They use Mazda octal valves TH41, VP41, HL41DD, Pen45 and UU6.
