Default Another mystery set to identify...

One for our overseas members I think, although this particular set has found its way to the UK (for reasons unkown). It has a Philips look about it, but that doesn't necessarily mean it would wear a Philips badge. I can also see a rather nice audio set-up with a very generous bass speaker to the side and smaller one facing forwards.

Thumbs up Re: Another mystery set to identify...

Looking at that, the name that immediately sprang to mind was 'Braun'. Something about that 'ladder' of horizontal slats above the controls…

I think it's the 19" version of THIS.

Or possibly one of these.

Cheers,

Tony

Gosh - good spot, Tony!

Or a Rafena 'Stadion 2', possibly. How on earth did you know that?

At least I was close with Braun!

'One for our overseas members'. Ahem. Or possibly those in Dudley...

Amazing bit of detective work Tony! Mystery solved.

Glad I could help.

I spent a short time in Germany in my 'yoof' and remember a few obscure brands. My first thought was Loewe Opta.

Have you acquired the set, Steve? It looks a corker and I bet it's a brilliant performer.

Cheers,

Tony

P.S. Just found this thread.

I was too late to respond, but I can share my thought process. My first thought: not a European Philips. My second thought was: ah, look at the colour of that deflection yoke, definitely East European, maybe East German.

I have one of those, only the Stadion 2 version, with a more rounded CRT, has very nice sound
