Re: Freeview box with a modulator
The TVONICS freeview box which has a modulator should still be available from Argos and other major outlets.

Re: Freeview box with a modulator
This Icecrypt T5000 Freeview box has a UHF modulator and is available half price from Play.com at £24.99 post free.
http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...rlrefer=search Ron P.S. I don't think that the TVonics MDR-100 mentioned in post #4 actually has a UHF modulator installed. |

Re: Freeview box with a modulator
Look for the Tvonics MFR200 available sometimes from Aldi or Argos, it is compact and includes the modulator, I use one in my aerial input to the house to rebroadcast BBC 1 to all my analogue sets as though digital never happened. I was tempted to by 4 of them but to recreate pre digital switchover but in the end I was to mean!

Re: Freeview box with a modulator
A box i highly rate (i have two) is the humax f2-fox t, this not only has a modulator,, but also sports stereo audio & composite outputs via phono sockets, so works a treat with an aurora.
I bought both of mine from a local carboot for less than a fiver each These were an expensive box when new, and the quality shows. Mark |

Re: Freeview box with a modulator
Snap, I got my F2 Fox-T at a local car boot sale for £4, the picture's brilliant, sound's great, and it works a treat...
Not tried out the UHF modulator though, I just have it on the kitchen TV via SCART, but I don't doubt it's abilities... |

Re: Freeview box with a modulator
Hi All,
It would appear my statement about the Sony is incorrect. This unit has only a loop through and not a modulator. Sorry for the confusion. Having never actually used it, I wrongly assumed the 2 UHF sockets were an internal modulator. SORRY! I'll get my coat........

Re: Freeview box with a modulator
The Humax 9200T PVR box has a modulator output together with composite video and stereo audio phono outputs with the bonus of being able to record programmes as well.

Re: Freeview box with a modulator
I have two Humax f2-fox t, totally impressed by this STB with its RF and scart outputs. The freeview pictures are so much better than the old Pace box it replaced. Not so impressed with the small TVonics box with only a RF output. Pictures are ok but it started to overheat and i had to prop the front end up with some blue tack to improve the ventilation. I am going to replace it with the Ferguson F01SB box when I can persuade my son who has strangly become quite attached to the small TVonics box
Upstairs in my workshop I have a Philips DTR210 running through my Toshiba VCR. Brilliant pictures and sound despite the weak signal from the loft aerial. Its a pity this did not have an RF output it would have been a perfect STB if it did.

Re: Freeview box with a modulator
Nokia 210t
Televés zas (they have made numerous stbs with modulators - not sure how easy to find in UK though) I think Sagem did some too To be honest, unless you're really pushed for space, it is easier and cheaper to just use an old VCR and go through that. Just don't get a philips one though - they tend to automatically power off if unused!

Re: Freeview box with a modulator
... and sending a signal through the modulator isn't considered being in use!

Re: Freeview box with a modulator
Try a scart to modulator setup, scart will plug into freeview, dvd, video recorder, then output to a rf signal

Re: Freeview box with a modulator
Hello
I have just spotted this box while looking for something else that claims to have a modulator output. I was going to start a new thread but thought it would be best on here. Bye for now. William Last edited by Telleadict; 17th Mar 2011 at 5:49 pm. Reason: Typo! |
