French radio?
Looking to buy a radio it is described as possibly French made by P Rondet, anyone heard of this make? (5 valve) can't see a model number.

Re: French radio?
Hi to All,
Hi Viscount, Here is one of the best data search engines on vintage French radios with (depending on model), photographs, valve listing, schematics, etc. https://www.doctsf.com/grandlivre/index.php?ps_raz=1 Alphabetical search page : click on "Liste" & enter first letter of brand to see all by scrolling down. I looked under Rondet and P.something, no luck. 5 valves would sugest a MW + LW superhet radio. Between the 30s and 50s, hundreds of small makers built radios which they sold under their own name or brand. If you want to dig in deeper & get help, sign up on Doc.TSF (it's free) and ask members if this maker rings a bell. Having photos and/or valve lineup would be a great help. Re: French radio?
Hi to All,
Hi Viscount, By politeness, I have to post a reply (Thanks) on docTSF. What do you want to do with the radio : keep it as a shelf queen for aesthetics or make it sing again ? There will probably be no exact schematics but from the valve line up the forum can probably supply something very close. One of the replies suggested valve types based on the photo of the rear view of the set. I will orient my reply depending on your intentions... Best Regards jhalphen Paris/France |

Re: French radio?
Being complete, it should not be too big a job to restore to good working order. I know I would go for it.

Re: French radio?
That would be a start, better not say too much in case of the dreaded drift (OT).Bad enough on sets.
Anyway, I hope you manage to get it.
