Pye W15 AM
Hello all, I have just seen among a thread about the PYE vr 200 mention of the failure of the W15 AM modulation transformer. I had quite a few of theese transformers fail in my time, the easiest way to diagnose this was to monitor the current drawn from the bench supply. Key the transmitter and whistle into the microphone, if the current leaps to high values then the modulation transformer has gone shorted turns.

Re: Pye W15 AM
Thanks for that useful tip.
If I can find the one that appeared to be giving problems with mod I must try that test. I'm pretty sure I have another transformer for swaps somewhere. |
