Hi, I too have crt adaptors and cards, is there an interconnecting cable between the adaptors and tester. I have seen no reference to it. Norman

Hi Norman, yes there was a short interconnect cable about 3 ft long and mine is labelled
"CRT Adaptor B". Octal plug and free socket, appears to be 1 to 1 and 2 to 2 etc connections. Probably used to link the tester to the set with another suitable adaptor on the set end Ed |

Hi Robot, plenty of details of all the cards issued (and numbers not issued) in this section of the forum.
I believe GMB of this forum did most of the work. There was also a design published for a card punch, so you could manufacture your own cards. The material (approx. 1mm thick SRBP) is still available, but other alternative insulators have been suggested. Ed |

Hi Ed, Thanks for the info regarding the crt tests. The tester I have belonged to my old work place and I can't recall ever seeing a cable. Norman

Hi Folks, as mentioned earlier, there was a card punch design for the HSVT, I was looking for my copy for another member but cannot find it.
has anyone got a link to this piece of kit? Thanks, Ed |

Hi Frank, thanks for that, I think Ken was also looking for the data as well.
I have the gauge plate and silver steel for the punch, but it is still on the TUIT pile! Ed |

Gauge plate - serious stuff! I'm in the process of doing one, but it'll just be in MS - initially at least - with a 7mm silver steel punch.
My younger brother runs a small engineering business in Dalbeattie. He's had the CAD drawings for a punch jig drawn up, but I'm still waiting for him to make it. How do you plan to do the punch? I'm wondering if a sinusoidal cutting edge similar to the old Q-Max chassis hole cutters (drawing attached) would give a cleaner hole, rather than just a brute-force flat-ended punch. Cheers, Frank |

Hi Frank, yes the punch will be "Q max" style, it should cut SRBP easily and not need sharpening very often. It will then shear rather than punching, so should not tear the material.

Hello Everyone
I have asked for this thread to be reopened to ask how far this project is from completion. I scanned all the cards I have and converted them to PFD files over five years ago, but I am still missing 206 cards, please see attached “Missing Card List”. If the missing cards have already been converted to PDF files I would be interested in obtaining a copy of them to complete my own set. However if they have not been converted I wondered if members of the forum would be prepared to send copies of any of the missing cards on my list so that I can convert them. I am more than willing to send PDF copies of my files to anyone who would need them, in fact I do not mind if the complete set is made available, either on the forum or by email. I could break the files into groups of 50 cards so that they would fit within the forum rules on PDF file size if that is permissible. Please find attached a PDF copy of the Mullard numerical card list No.8. and a copy of Military Card Packs A, B and C. Regards Stan.

See http://air-ministry.uk/mullard.htm for how far I got, which is close to all the known cards. But to confuse matters the odd card outside the documented range turned up which raised the question as to what they were for.
I have been meaning to try a final big push to get the last few as rumours keep circulating that some people have all the cards. But I have not managed to meet them yet! |

Hello GMB
I have just checked through you missing card list and I noticed that some of the card numbers that I have listed as No Issue are not in your list. The numbers are as follows:- 775, 778, 781, 782, 808, 824, 830, 1080. Have you found these cards and can you tell me what valves they are designed to test? Also you have listed 893AB and 963AB; I have listed these numbers as No Issue. It looks like I may need more than the 206 cards I thought were still missing. Regards Stan.

Hi Valveman
I have checked my list of cards against your list of missing cards and it looks as though I have 5 cards that you are missing. these are 760, 1118, 1119, 1121, and 1135. How would you like me to get this info to you? I have not done a reverse check yet, but it appears that you have a lot of cards that I am missing. You suggest that you may put up a pdf file of your collection on a thread, this would be great as I, and ,others could manufacture our missing cards. John. |

Those are not on the missing list so I think you confused the revision lists with that. But if any of those are a revision that I don't have then that would be great to have.

Hello John
The cards you listed (760, 1118, 1119, 1121, and 1135) are missing from my set and I would be very grateful if you could scan the cards at 300dpi with the card placed in the top left corner of your scanner and then save each file as a bitmap (bmp). I would then be able to take the file directly into my software and create a PDF image file of the card and using the full size image make a test card. I have scanned all the cards I have and converted them to full size PDF’s, however the full data base is quite large and will be more than the forum file upload limits. If you could make a list of the cards you need I am more than willing to upload the files to the forum if they are within the limits, or send the files by email to yourself. Regards Stan.

Hi Stan
This is uncharted territory for me, so if it does not work please come back to me and I will have another go Ooops. BMP files would not upload, so I rescanned the cards as jpeg files and these uploaded. Five files are the max permitted so I will send the other 2 in the next reply. John. |

Hello John
Thanks for the images of the cards I have printed them out in landscape mode at 188% scaling and the images are the correct size. I will have to rescan the images in portrait mode (I should have mentioned that) and convert to a bitmap file. I also should have mentioned that you would have to email the bitmap files, sorry about that. I will post the PDF files for the cards when I have converted them. If you make a list of what cards you want I will compile a file for you. The whole data base is about 72Mb so far with the file size of each card being about 36kb which will be far too large for the forum. Regards Stan.
