From Philip, I have an HMV122 electric motor 78 rpm record player. I can't get the motor to spin. It only hums. I have oiled it.

Can anybody can fix it for me? Been told it may be the start up caps on the motor.

However I am not gifted in skills for this job. Can anybody can fix it for me out there please?

I am Birkenhead based on Wirral Merseyside.

I'm fed up with it now can't find anybody interested in doing it for me. Forum replies sent with outdated links, have not helped me any. I would have liked one that worked like I have seen on the YouTube.

I gave £50 for it plus postage approx 4 years ago, it has just been stuck in the loft. I think imight like to sell it on the way things are with no real help to make it work.

i have a .. hmv 122/ the motor wont run , it only hums a bit
it as been oiled; no avail, any body can fix it, as i am not experienced in such delicate repair or know how, in what caps value and type. or how to do it.
