Default Pye 75 cabinet colour

About 10 year's ago I did a skip Dive and rescued a pair of Pye 75's, both in working order, put them in the workshop and forgot about them, finally dug them out at the weekend and found the lacquer has faded and cracked/crazed meaning it's getting a full re-finish,
The question is has anyone had success in matching the original colour, ( golden honey?) either with wood dye or varnish etc.
I was hoping to re-finish with French polish only because like using it and like the finish
