Default Re: Trio 9R-59D help

I've often wondered how much the performance of some potentially excellent receivers (and other equipment) was held back by the performance of older, less sophisticated capacitors, especially at HF where they were probably both inductive and of problematically high ESR. I'm not sure if all modern plastic film capacitors use extended foil techniques to keep self-inductance low but it seems quite common for a thorough re-capping (of decouplers anyway) to make a set come to life and reward the effort.
