A big thank you to Brian Cuff for the generous parcel of capacitors, diodes and the diode cradle for EA50 free of charge. It made my day

I do hope that one day somehow I can return the favour somehow.

Dear UK Vintage Radio Repair & Restoration Discussion Forum

Just wanted to tell you how grateful I am to your Forum, though I'm not a member. Looking for any help I could to get my Roberts R606-MB working again, I found a thread dating back to 2007 about common problems. Turns out it was just a faulty mains/battery change-over switch. So problem identified and resolved. Many, many thanks.

As a complete contrast I also found this http://petemaxwell.wordpress.com/201...anding-repair/ - which you might find interesting, if a bit lengthy!

Best regards, and keep up the good work.

Huge thank you to Jim, user name G4XWDJim. I requested, asked for help with locating some specific B7G sockets. Jim promptly replied last night and invited me over today to pick some up, free of charge. When I arrived I was greeted with a cup of tea and huge supply of the sockets I very much needed. We went into Jim's fabulous workshop with my Roberts RMB where Jim made sure I came away with exactly what I needed. Being fairly new to the hobby, Jim had also put together two large boxes of spares for me to take away to build up my spares, hundreds of valves that I will be able to use for substitution and many types of transformers.

What a lovely suprise for a beginner to come away with. Just what i needed. Thank you so much for your generosity Jim. While I was there Jim also tested a suspect valve for me on his valve tester which luckily turned out good! This was great to watch having never seen this done before, Jim clearly explained to me how it worked and what we were looking for. I even got a brief tutorial on basic alignment while I was there. It was a great experience to meet Jim, he offered loads of encouragement and guidance on kit etc.

Thank you for all the parts and for your patience with a beginner. It was great for someone with your experience to spend that time with me.

Many thanks. Kind regards, Dave.

A quick thank you to Dr Wobble for the 80GB hard drives which he was kind enough to offer F.O.C. in the Sales and Wants section.

Thanks to GrimJosef for transporting some old HDDs to Dave Moll, to Studio263 for the childrens' tapes, and to Lowemission for the wonderful radios and their safe delivery via Karen to Didcot.

THANK YOU!

Very many thanks to Dave Moll & Threeseven (Gary) for facilitating the transport of the Garrard DD75 back to sunny Worcestershire. It's now in my to-do 'pile' of Swindon's finest.

Thank you to the anonymous person in Tunbridge Wells who kindly sent me a CD-ROM of assorted radio and valve data and books that he/she found while clearing a deceased relative's house.

I will sort through it in due course, and quite a lot of it will probably find its way onto my free data site at www.vintage-radio.info so everyone benefits.
