Me too. House, Job, Car, etc has caused me to go a bit quiet on the Radio and TV front though.

Take a look at the photos there. There are loads of really interesting ones of some TV restorations and some nice sets.

I've been looking at the photos over the past couple of days and it's an inspiration. Really pleased I joined, even if I am not exactly an avid follower of Facebook. I hope to post pictures of my sets soon

Thanks Paul

Hi, It's good to keep up with the times and I notice Paul has added Facebook. Can I ask the silly question what is Facebook please? I'm the same vintage as my old wireless sets. Col.

Hi Stitch, Many thanks for the website link it is very comprehensive and informative. Although I'm classed as a silver surfer and like to join in I'll give Facebook a miss. I'm concerned about security and privacy issues mentioned on the site and think my time would be better spent browsing this excellent forum. Sorry if this sounds negative and I don't wish to put others off joining but for me it's a case of better safe than sorry. Col.

That's fair enough Col although you can close your own personal privacy right down such that you are only visible to your friends (that you have either found or chosen to accept)

Cheers,

I do pop in occasionally, but I'm not that impressed with it.
  • Speaking as a retired software person, the site layout is very poor.
  • Present company excepted of course, it seems to be full of sewer-mouthed illiterates.
  • Too many daft quizzes, most of which require all your details.

These sort of threads:
#1 I just got up
#2 Had my breakfast
#3 Had a shower
#4 Went to work
... and so on. Suppose it saves on their mobile bill when they would otherwise be texting.

I'll agree with that! I do find it strangely adictive though

There is nothing to stop you from posting made-up personal details -- if you can't answer truthfully, i.e. "N.O.Y.D.B.", then you have to lie -- but be aware that living up to an imaginary persona that you have created can be strangely compelling .....

Seeing all those pictures of old gear I think back to all the stuff I should have kept. Then again nostalgia is not what it used to be.
